Safeway Redevelopment
This site is being developed with a replacement Safeway store fronting Granville, a 24-storey rental tower, a 14-storey market condominium tower, and a 9-storey townhouse/condo unit on Cornish St.
Some facts about the project:
- Westbank is the developer, Henriquez Partners Achitects is the architect, and the project is called Granville at 70th.
- Project size is 381,500 square feet and the expected completion date is February 2014.[1]
- Currently on the site is the Safeway grocery store, a government liquor store and a branch of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). The RBC building is expected to remain and the rest demolished to make way for construction of the new project.
